News from MPM Records
February 22nd, 2008
MPM is one of my favorite record label (I using an own category), specially with their artists Kova (Breakout), Dj Day, Kutiman and A-Ko. Since I’ve discovered the label my musical interests and needs have been changed.
Nowadays there are many of similar labels which brings you a new sound and a new perspective in musical development in mixed genres. But in my opinion MPM is the most rising star since the mid of 2006. Why? MPM has a great and always surprising output and a good worldwide reputation because of its artists and external communication. They don’t stop their work with a new release. No.. . They using several channels and using all known possibilities to market their work and artists. Their website is always updated, you’ll find every artist on MySpace and some of it at YouTube with their own videos.
A while ago I found some great new videos from MPM artists, which provide an insight into the artist background and creativity. So have a look to the vid’s below and feel free to leave a comment.
And don’t forget to check www.mpmsite.com for all information and forthcoming releases! Great new stuff!

A couple of months ago, Universal Records asked the Truth&Soul Crew to do a re-mix for the upcoming Winehouse single, “Love Is A Losing Game”. Today I’ve discovered the great new version on their Blog. The Track is coming out on 12″ vinyl with the original and a couple of other re-mixes. At the moment, the Track is only available at Juno Records in UK. Beautiful voice, beautiful track! Carry on Amy…
Elan Mehler
November 28th, 2007

Yesterday, I listen to an old episode of Gilles Peterson Podcast where he played some tracks by Elan Mehler, a great Jazz Pianist from Brooklyn NYC.
And what is the music about…“An introspective beauty, this is the record I’ve been dying to release for years.” Gilles Peterson
Oh yes! Some hours ago I’ve bought “Scheme For Thought” at my local record store and had a first tune in his beautiful compositions. Sounds warm and gives you a laid-back feeling. Best music for cold, dark winter months. Trust in me!!!
The Morning side of love Vol. 2
October 24th, 2007

Two weeks ago I went to the Netherlands to check out some Records Stores. What I’ve found and bought (besides some other vinyls) is a compilation called “The Morning Side Of Love Vol. 2″. This little treasure (I love great compilations) is selected and compiled by Umbi Damiani for IRMA Records Italy.
The Morning Side Of Love is a deep and lascivious journey through Jazz, Soul and orchestral sounds from the past and a cut above the Mellow Mellow Compilations by Harmless Records.
Some of the tracks could be music from the recent years and I suggest you listen to such sounds on Sunday mornings after you’ve dreamed something beautiful…
