Today a colleague asked me what I made 6 years ago on the 11th September…

My Answer: Some weeks before I finished my trainee and worked for a software developing company in Hanover. I was still 21 years old, still an active Bboy and was on the verge to move into my first own flat. It was a normal business day for me, did some bug fixing, had a good lunch, just a normal day. In the afternoon a colleague came into my office and told me something about a plane crash in NYC, about an impact etc. So I was occupied and paid no great attention to what she said. At half past six I went to the train station and was on my way home. Ten minutes later one of my best friends called me and told me the same story as my colleague some hours before. He explained me what happened in NYC. At home, I have seen the current news on TV together with my family. We were absolutely shocked, voiceless, sad….The upcoming days were filled by many discussions, different news and informations and always the same pictures from the crashing airplanes, crying people etc.! Horrible.

Since this day my world view changed!!! Nothing seems to be like before…The media system found new words like Terror, alert phase, threat etc., which had never such a meaning for the masses before. I don’t wanna speak about my real opinion about this day. Who should be responsible for the attack or about the different known theories. But at the end of the day I wanna say that I am really sad about the world situation (I’ve got an new awareness!), which results from this day. The War(s), the human split, the worlds mismatch etc. I never was confronted (in this kind of intensity) with all these things before…but on the other site there are many things which gotten a new sense to me. Family and friends, health, being,…

I will never forget the 11th September, because the world is another and we are a part of it, we are a part of the presence, the future, the history. And I think that my generation will find out even more like this and maybe one day we will know more about the backgrounds or we need to answer some questions to our children’s or grandchild’s… we will see… but deep into my heart I hope that one day love, peace and harmony will reach everyone.

Last year I’ve started One Take Tapes at the end of august with my first post. At this time I’ve written my thesis, was still a student and totally overburden with the situation.

Now, one year later I am glad that One Take Tapes is still alive! I’ve written more than 250 articles about music, design, bboying etc., got approx. 130 comments, contained within 49 categories.

What comes next…? Good question! First I need more time for all my ideas, for the relaunch, the podcast, promotion and so on… I have many ideas to make OTT even more professional (this is my intention for the next year!!!), but I need TIME!!!

But the most important thing is, that you keep in touch with One Take Tapes!;-)

It’s one week ago since my last post! Sorry for that short break. The last week was a little bit hard for me, because I had to prepare myself for several job interviews. Now its over, its Saturday and tomorrow I will go to the Nitty Gritty’s NOTTIN HILL CARNIVAL 2007 here in cologne (feat. Kurtis Blow, Dendemann, Tre Hardson of Pharcyde with Band etc.). GREAT! So later or tomorrow I will write more and add some new great Music and News for you…! Stay tuned and don’t forget: Its all about passion, love, soul and style…!
